Alison's House of Grey - Update on All Things Writing Related!

I've been hiding, I know. But I come bearing gifts or at the very least, promises of future gifts!

NaNoWriMo ended, and I was not a winner. That's the bad news. I did, however, write 35,000+ words on Many the Miles, and I outlined all remaining chapters. The next installment is in the hands of a beta (who is far more capable of reading it objectively at this point than I am). I am exercising heretofore unseen levels of patience on posting this chapter because it's an important set up/transitional chapter, so trust me -- you want me to wait for beta feedback. I have the two chapters following this next one done, too, and given the miracle that is known as Christmas vacation, I may just find some additional time to write in the next few weeks.

Speaking of the holidays...I have written a holiday one-shot as part of the moderator secret santa gift exchange at elevatorjunkies. Watch for that on December 22 (the first day that I'm authorized to post it). *g*

Finally, I plan to use the Grey's hiatus to catch up on some episode recaps. I make no promises that I'll do all of the episodes -- I may combine a couple depending on how snarky I feel and how pressed for time I am, but I haven't forgotten those. I just put them off for a while because the ridiculousness of some of the plots (*cough* Denny *cough*) was so unbelievable, I felt like I'd be making fun of a retarded child to do a re-cap. Not that I'm calling Shonda retarded or childish. Although maybe I am...

(Shonda, if you're reading this, I mean retarded in the nicest sense of the word. Really.)

I'll try to post an update soon. In the meantime, what are the rest of you Meredith and Derek fans reading? I need some suggestions!
